2007-2008
The mission of REC-IM is to encourage participation among the entire campus by providing a wide variety of opportunities in recreation and organized sport. We strive to build community among students, encourage Christ-like sportsmanship and promote a healthy lifestyle within a structured and fun environment.
Directions for Application:
1. Please return the application by March 9, 2007 to:

2. Ask two people, a faculty, staff or previous employer, and a student leader or RD, to fill out and mail the Reference form to REC-IM (Attn.: Tara Starbuck) by March 9, 2007.
Important Information:
1. Interviews will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007, from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
2. There will be a mandatory Staff Meeting Thursday April 19, 2007 4:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. for all 2007-2008 REC-IM Staff.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Recreation Coordinator
Purpose
- Manage recreation events
Primary Responsibilities
- Schedule and facilitate all recreation events
- Setup and take down all events
- Review recreation rules and policies
- Communicate pertinent information to participants
- Attend all recreation events
- Maintain equipment inventory and inform Director if damages or loss occurs
- Have weekly office hours (2)
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Basic Qualifications
- Possess excellent knowledge of sport rules, REC-IM policies and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Average Hours/Week: 6
Website Editor
Purpose
- Maintain content on REC-IM public website
Primary Responsibilities
- Update league schedules, league standings, and All-Hall Championship points regularly
- Add and expire pages as needed
- Communicate with CET and College Communications concerning website issues
- Create executable programs as needed by other REC-IM staff members
- Work with Director to enhance look of site and ensure greatest user satisfaction
- Ensure consistency of design, layout and integrity
- Hold weekly office hours (2)
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Basic Qualifications
- Participation in and working understanding of mission of REC-IM
- Comfortable using a web-based content management system to update, create and maintain pages
- IT skills, computer literacy, programming and web page creation experience
- Good writer with strong grammar and editing skills
Average Hours/Week: 5
Publicity
Purpose
- Promote and publicize REC-IM events
Primary Responsibilities
- Compose weekly emails to campus with descriptions of upcoming events and registration due dates
- Gather content (photos, graphics, text) for publicity
- Develop and produce promotional materials (signs, posters, flyers)
- Acquire proper approval and distribute publicity materials around campus
- Submit event details to Campus Events Calendarfor approval
- Design and maintain bulletin board in the Lane Student Center
- Actively pursue opportunities to further enhance the image of REC-IM
- Hold weekly office hours (2)
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Basic Qualifications
- Creativity
- Experience in graphic design and creating promotional pieces
Average Hours/Week: 6
Statistician
Purpose
- Collection and presentation of quantitative information
Primary Responsibilities
- Process leagues standings and sportsmanship averages
- Calculate league and recreation standings
- Calculate All-Hall Championship point standings
- Track team and hall points weekly
- Compile a full report including standings and participation at end of each semester
- Hold weekly office hours (2)
- Attend weekly staff meeting
Basic Qualifications
- Experience using Excel spreadsheets
