Position Description Overview: During the academic school year, the College Farm operates simultaneously as an educational resource for the campus and as a diversified production farm. Students are integral to the success and daily operations of the College Farm. They contribute their skills in terms of labor, support staff and educators as needs arise. Student Farmers are the backbone of the Dickinson College farm, working in groups and independently on farm-based projects. Student Farmers can expect to work with the seasons and demands of the farm, from planting and harvesting and construction projects to livestock work and field work. They are also heavily relied upon to maintain the College’s commitment to expand and maintain sustainability initiatives by helping to raise certified organic produce for use in meals at the College and serving as community liaisons through outreach programs and community enhancement projects.
