Certification of Additional Online Orientation User Accounts

It is not uncommon for nursing faculty to teach at more than one nursing program. In the CCP Online Orientation, faculty who work for more than one nursing program must have a separate online orientation account for each school at which they teach.

With the Additional Online Orientation User Account process, faculty only needs to certify (i.e. complete the four modules) once per academic year and can transfer/share their certification with additional online orientation account(s).

1.  New users need to create an Online Orientation user account (Account#1). Note how you enter your name and account information, i.e., use of capital letters, etc. This information will be needed again in step 6.

2.  Become certified for the current academic year under Account#1 by completing the 4 centralized modules and post-tests, submitting your Electronic Acknowledgement statements and the online orientation evaluation survey.

3.  Log out.

4.  Go to: www.mcnplacement.org/orientation

5.  Follow the self-registration instructions above and create a second user account for the second school you teach at (Account#2).

6.  Login (www.mcnplacement.org/orientation) to the online orientation program with Account#2.

7.  Following login, the opening message will note that you are not certified under Account#2.

8.  You will be offered the opportunity to transfer/share your current certification (Account#1) to another account (Account#2). Use the “click here” link to open the form that will facilitate the certification transfer/share.

9.  Enter the user name and password of the account for which you are already certified (Account#1). Then click the “Transfer Certification” button.

10.  The site will confirm the certification transfer/share.

11.  Account#1 and Account#2 are now certified for the current academic year.

A Few Helpful Hints

Ø  When completing the account registration form for each account, the names on the accounts need to match. If the first letter of the first and last names were capitalized in the registration form of Account#1, then the first letters of the first and last names of Account#2 need to be capitalized. So, if Jane Doe entered her name as ‘Jane’ ‘Doe’ in Account #1. She would also enter her name as ‘Jane’ ‘Doe’ for Account #2.

Ø  You may transfer/share a current certification to more than one account.

Ø  Each account needs a different email address. School-based email addresses can be very useful here.

Ø  For security, the certification transfer/share process will not allow transfer to a different account at the same nursing program.

Ø  Students who switch programs during the same academic year can also add an additional account.
