RE:LegislativeSchool Board Meeting

The Board of School Directors of the Steelton-Highspire School District at their March19, 2009Legislative Meeting conducted the following business:

CURRICULUM REPORT

-Announced that the AP Calculus Syllabus was approved by the College Board for the

2008-2009 school year.

-Approved an agreement with Penn State Harrisburg regarding dual enrollment.

-Approved Internet and Network Acceptable Use Policies.

FINANCIAL REPORT

-Approved Treasurer’s, Investment, and Accounts Payable/Estimated Expenditures

-Approved Cafeteria, Athletic, Student Activities, and Construction Funds.

-Approved Real Estate and Personal Taxes.

-Adopted the 2009-2010 CAIU General Operating Budget.

-Adopted a resolution from the Capital Tax Collection Bureau.

PERSONNEL REPORT

Accepted the resignation of Georgia Hoffman as Concession Stand Coordinator.

PROPERTY AND SUPPLIES REPORT

-Approved the use of the high school baseball field by the Steelton Teener Team.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES REPORT

-Approved field trips to Philadelphia for 8th and 12th grade students.

-Approved several fundraisers for the Sophomore Class.

PUPIL SERVICES REPORT

-Adopted the revised Emergency Evacuation Plan, Annex G.

-Adopted a revision to the Board Policy regarding admission of students.

SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT’S REPORT

-Approved “freezing” the number “5” on football uniforms in honor of the accomplishments of Jeremiah Young, state football rushing record holder. The number

“5” will be frozen until the record is broken.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

-Approved several conference requests.

-Announced that a letter was received from the Bureau of Special Education reporting

that areas of noncompliance have been corrected by the District.

-Reviewed several informational items from the CAIU.
