Additional information:
- We have the largest enrollment of any student branch of AIAA (over 350)
- We are very active on campus and around Atlanta. We have regular bi-monthly meetings where we bring in people from industry/research/academia to talk about their work and opportunities for students. In addition, we organize recruiting events (information sessions, resume critique sessions, etc) for industry representatives, including JPL, SpaceX, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, SpaceWorks, and Area-I.
- We coordinate luncheons and dinner socials in coordination with our local Atlanta AIAA section, AIAA national, and other aerospace industry representatives on campus. In addition to attending Atlanta Section dinners, we have also hosted Leslie Livesay, Robert Crippen, Sandra Magnus, Bill Owen, and others.
- We also collaborate with other Aerospace student organizations/chapters at Georgia Tech, including AHS, Ramblin Rocket Club, Sigma Gamma Tau, SAESAC, Mars Society, etc.
- With aerospace activities at Georgia Tech approaching their 100 year anniversary (1917-2017), we invited world-renowned author and storyteller Jay O’Callahan, who had been commissioned by NASA to write and perform a one man show about the story of the space program, to give one of his performances on campus.
- We brought a group of members to volunteer at the local Youth Aviation Adventure event hosted by Epps Aviation, which seeks to teach kids about aviation and offers completion of their Aviation scout badge.
- We are always open to expanding our scope of activities and events. Please contact one of us (e-mails listed on our website) if you have a potential opportunity.
