Hey Individual’s Name-

I’m sending you this letter (old school!) to share with you how excitedI am about an opportunity I have coming up. I have been given the opportunityto go on a mission trip to Germany and the United Kingdom this Fall, and I would love for you to partner with me!

Trip description

I will be traveling with The Ramp to Ludswigslust, Germany to Manchester, England, from September 28- October 8th2014.

While we are there we will be have the honor and privilege of doing a youth conference in Germany and we will also minister at various churches in the UK spreading the message of the Gospel and seeing young people encounter the love of God. While we are in Germany we will minister through dance, drama and the preaching of the word. Not only will we be ministering to the youth of Germany but also 50-60 Middle Eastern refugees who come from the Muslim religion! We will tell them about the love Jesus has for them and see them encounter the one true living God! After this time of ministry, we will then fly to Manchester and speak at various churches and Christian T.V. stations with one goal: To see the youth of the UK encounter Jesus. But our work will not stop there, The Ramp is officially opening its Ramp U.K. location on this trip and I will be there to help it get started!

Here’s the honest truth: I cannot travel to Germany and England without the financial and prayer support of a community. It would be unrealistic to attempt to fund this trip on my own, and it would be arrogant not to ask for prayer, since I will be serving in a way that I’ve never had to before. That’s why I’m inviting you to partner with me.

Together, we can both be a small part of what God is doing in Germany and England. I believe that on this trip many will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and be forever transformed by the love of God.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the trip or how you can partner with me. Thanks for reading!

Bonus Tips

The problem with support letters is that they are a little outdated. When was the last time you communicated with your friends and family by writing a letter (and weren’t asking for money)? It’s still great to send out support letters, but don’t assume that once your letters are in the mail, your job is done.

After you send out your letters, it’s time to get social. Email a copy of your letter to friends and family, post about it on social media, and perhaps even start a blog or Facebook group. Awareness creates support. The more people that are made aware of your trip, the more support you will receive.
