Junior Optimist Club
of Oak Park

What is a JOI Club?

With the guidance and support of the Optimist Club of Oakville, the Junior Optimist Club of Oak Park completes fun projects and activities to improve experiences for youth in Oakville, while collecting volunteer hours. As soon as you are a member, you’ll have opportunities to enhance your leadership skills, manage projects and work with a budget. These hands-on opportunities will help you prepare for high school and add to your resume.

What is JOI?

JOI stands for Junior Optimist International. It’s the umbrella organization that links the Oakville JOI Clubs to other JOI Clubs around the world. Junior Optimists nominate and elect their own Club Executive. They also have the opportunity to earn Optimist International medallions for their achievements. Every JOI Club chooses its own projects to meet needs for its own community. There are also opportunities to participate in District (Central Ontario) and International Conventions. They are the first to know about Optimist funded opportunities.

How Often Are Meetings?

We meet on the first and thirdThursday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre from September to June. We do not meet during the summer.
