What motivated you to run to be a Board Member for the Johnston CSD?

What specific skills or professional experiences qualify you to serve as a Board Member for the Johnston CSD? How will these skills and experiences help you serve as an effective school board member?

With only a few meetings a month, school boards need to prioritize items for consideration. What do you believe the board’s primary roles and responsibilities should be?

What are 2-3 strengths of the Johnston CSD? Why do you feel these are strengths?

In what ways could the Johnston CSD improve? How would you help to facilitate this improvement as a Board Member?

If elected, what are some of the goals you hope to accomplish by the end of your term as a Board Member for the Johnston CSD? How will these goals positively impact student achievement? How will you build consensus and support within the community to achieve these goals?

What is your vision for the 21st century education in the Johnston CSD?

As a board member, what will you do to ensure that all teachers have the support, time, and resources needed to secure your vision for 21st century education for all students in the district?

There is much ongoing debate about how best to assess student learning. In your opinion, how should our district assess student learning and ensure that our students are college-ready when they graduate high school?

Are there any specific changes you will seek to make to current school district policies, programs, or curricula being offered? If so, what changes do you want to make and why?

What are the factors upon which you will base your decisions as a school board member?
