¡BIENVENIDO A LA CLASE DE ESPAÑOL ESTUDIANTES DEL CUARTO y TERCERO GRADOS!

(Welcome to Spanish class 4th & 3rd graders!)

¡Hola estudiantes y los padres! (Hello students and parents)

I hope everyone had a great summer (verano)! I would like to remind you about my philosophy on learning a World Language. I believe that everyone can learn a World Language and I believe it is my responsibility to find the best way for each of my students to do so. I teach in a variety of methods which gives all of the students the chance to learn in their particular style. I hope everyone will enjoy learning Spanish as much as I enjoy teaching it! You do need to keep a few things in mind, in order to learn a foreign language; you should try your best to speak it. That means you must participate in class, as well as practice it at home. If you practice at home and bring in a note that states that you have done so, I will have a special treat for you! We all make mistakes, that is part of the learning process, so don’t be afraid to speak in class (in Spanish of course!).

The following is a list of things you will need to bring with you to class as well as my expectations for you this year in my Spanish class:

v  You will need to bring at least one pencil to class for doing any class work or note taking.

v  You will need to bring your notebooks in order to take any notes during our class. Third grade will be leaving their notebooks and folders in class, unless there is a need to take them home to study.

v  You will also need to bring a pocket folder with you each class.

v  I want you to have fun!!!

v  You need to pay attention and participate in the oral exercises we do.

v  If you are assigned homework, make sure to bring it with you the next time I see you (your first homework assignment is to go over this letter with your parents or guardians and get it signed!)

Classroom rules:

v  Come into class and sit quickly and quietly.

v  Have pencils sharpened and be ready to learn.

v  The rest of the rules we will be creating together in class.

v  Speak Spanish whenever you can!

v  Most important…HAVE FUN!
