Shrek is an animated movie. It is set in a land called Duloc. The main character is an Ogre called Shrek and the movie has a lot of references to different fairy tales. The movie is about Shrek trying to save his home after all the fairy tale creatures are forced to live in his swamp. Shrek is a very funny and entertaining movie that has a very positive message to its audience.
A movie that has a positive message is a movie that encourages its audience. It is a movie that gives its audience a message that can make their lives better or make the audience happier. Most fairy tales have a positive message, such as not judging people by their appearance or by how much money they have.
Shrek also teaches people not to judge a book by its cover. When you judge somebody, you are trying to figure out if you are “better” or “worse” than the other person. You often use things such as money or behaviour to figure out if you are a better person. Shrek believes that a princess as “beautiful” as Princess Fiona would never love him. They had a fight because Shrek thought he heard Princess Fiona say that, but it was a misunderstanding. Not only should you not judge a book by its cover, but you should listen to what people have to say as well.
Shrek teaches its audience that you should listen to what people have to say. When you listen to somebody, it means you are paying attention to the words that they are saying. You are trying to understand what somebody is saying and feeling about a topic. Donkey has no friends in the movie because he talks too much and most people think that he is not saying anything useful. This means that they don’t listen to him. However at the end of the movie, Shrek takes the time to listen to him and his words convince Shrek to save Fiona. Donkey has always been difficult to get along with and that shows that the best things are not necessarily perfect.
Sometimes the best things in life are not the things that are perfect. When something is perfect, it has no faults and it is as good as it can possibly be. Lord Farquad is the villain in the movie because he will destroy anything to make sure his kingdom is perfect. Shrek thought he was not the “perfect” match for Fiona so he was scared to tell her how he felt. Shrek itself might not be a perfect movie, but it definitely has a positive message.
Shrek is very positive as it teaches people not to judge a book by its cover. This means you will listen to what people have to say no matter who they are. Sometimes the quest for perfection can lead to destruction instead. Shrek is a very positive movie and we can all learn from the characters, story and events to lead a happier life in the future.
