- envy - the feeling of wanting to be in the same situation as sb else; the feeling of wanting sth that sb else has;

- green with envy very jealous;

- turn – become;

- prize - an award that is given to a person who wins a competition, race, etc. or who does very good work;

- rarely – not very often, seldom;

- link - to make a physical connection between one object, machine, place, etc. and another;

- linked – connected;

- cirucumstances - the conditions of a person's life, especially the money they have;

- jigsaw - a picture printed on cardboard or wood, that has been cut up into a lot of small pieces of different shapes that you have to fit together again;

- purpose – an aim, a reason for doing something;

- publicise - to make sth known to the public; to advertise sth;

- windfall - an amount of money that sb/sth wins or receives unexpectedly;

- smash - to break sth, or to be broken, violently and noisily into many pieces;

- wealthy – rich;

- beg - to ask sb for sth especially in an anxious way because you want or need it very much;

- fee - an amount of money that you pay for professional advice or services;

- charity - 1an organization for helping people in need

- bunch - a number of things of the same type which are growing or fastened together;

- acorn- the small brown nut of the oak tree, that grows in a base shaped like a cup;

- insistent - demanding sth firmly and refusing to accept any opposition or excuses;

- magnificent - extremely attractive and impressive; deserving praise;

- part - if a person parts from another person, or two people part, they leave each other;

- imperturbable - not easily upset or worried by a difficult situation; calm;

- breeze - a light wind;

- laden - full of sth, especially sth unpleasant;

- scent - the pleasant smell that sth has;

- wasteland - an area of land that cannot be used or that is no longer used for building or growing things on.

- trip - a journey to a place and back again, especially a short one for pleasure or a particular purpose;

- dryness – the state of being dry;

- dry - not wet, without water;

- shepherd - a person whose job is to take care of sheep;

- baking – hardened by the sun and heat, dried by heat;

- nettle - a wild plant with leaves that have pointed edges, are covered in fine hairs and sting if you touch them;

- abandon – leave;

- harsh - too strong and rough and likely to damage sth;

- gentle - not strong or extreme; kind and calm;

- restore - to bring sb/sth back to a former condition, place or position;

- convinced - completely sure about sth;

- humanity - people in general.
