THE SUPERINTENDENT VISITS OUR SCHOOL!

Lovinggood has been selected to host the Mercedes-Benz promotional video for Cobb County! We are excited to have our Superintendent – Mr. Ragsdale on our campus on Wednesday, January 21st to participate in a video promotion involving the upcoming move to Atlanta for the Mercedes-Benz headquarters. Our school was selected out of all Cobb County schools! We are very proud of this honor. Our teachers and students will shine as they do every day. I love to see this “well-oiled machine” work producing the successful students that we have attending our school. This is a courtesy to make you aware and also to let you know that some students will be featured in this video. We are unable to specify particular students, since it will be a random selection, but if your child brings a video release form home, then there is a possibility that it could involve their class. What can I say, Lovinggood is being highlighted – it’s all about the students. Thanks so much for your strong parental support! We couldn’t do what we do without you.

6th GRADE PARENTS ONLY: In preparation for our rising 6th grade parent information night on March 24, we would like to provide answers to common questions middle school parents have. As parents of current middle school students, what are some “words of wisdom” you have for new middle school parents? Was there anything that you wish you would have known to better prepare for middle school life? Was there anything you had heard about middle school that ended up not being accurate or what you expected? Looking back, what might you have done differently as you readied your student (and self) for middle school? Please send your thoughts to 6th Grade School Counselor, Katie Bower at , by Monday March 9. All submissions will be kept confidential.

Parking Lot Safety: Parents of Car Riders: Parents, please be sure to pull up as far as you can along the curb when dropping your child off. The further you pull up, the more parents can release at one time. When one car at a time pulls to the main door, much time is wasted and not considered for all that have to make it to their destination. Also, please walk your student only at the main entrance. We have noticed some parents trying to use the second walkway area to retrieve students during dismissal. Please refrain from calling for your child in that unauthorized area. It’s all for safety that we ask you to follow these rules.

Thanks so much!

No Missing Work: We are all on board promoting the “No missing work” expectation. Teachers will be referring students to administrators if assignments are not attempted. We have a high standard which states that “Zeros are not an option.” Please be sure to check your child’s grades consistently to ensure that he/she is not missing assignments. We want our students to understand the importance and value of the instructional expectations. If you do not have access to grades, please contact Ms. Sacchetta for assistance. Thank you for your support!

Food Drive - 4,800 Items Needed

We are asking each child to assist his/her homeroom in collecting 100 cans or boxes of food by bringing in non-perishable foods or toiletries through January 20th. No expired items please. The homeroom at each grade-level who collects the most items over 100 will receive special recognition. All of the food collected will be donated to the Save It Forward Food Pantries in Cobb County Schools.

Save It Forward Food Pantry Envelope Sponsorship

We have envelopes for Kroger and Publix that we need sponsored. Shop by Tuesday for the Kroger sale and by Wednesday for the Publix sale.
