A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Louvenia Lasure Douglas.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Louvenia Lasure Douglas, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was born on May 28, 1941, a native daughter of the Commonwealth, and a lifelong resident of Stanford, Kentucky, and traversed these earthly bounds on January 8, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was a tireless and dedicated educator who retired from teaching elementary school after many years; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas taught at Broughtentown Elementary School and at Stanford Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was a proud graduate of Eastern Kentucky University; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was a devout and faithful member of Stanford Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was the devoted and loving wife of Vernon Douglas; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was the beloved mother of Mark Douglas of Stanford, Kentucky, Richard Douglas of Lexington, Kentucky, and Wesley Douglas of Stanford, Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, Louvenia Lasure Douglas was preceded in death by her loving parents, Manles and Grace Gilpin Lasure; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Louvenia Lasure Douglas has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Louvenia Lasure Douglas and extends to her family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. The Senate recognizes that Louvenia Lasure Douglas was deeply loved by her family and friends and that she will be truly mourned.
Section 3. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Louvenia Lasure Douglas.
Section 4. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Vernon Douglas, 1835 Carmens Lane, Stanford, Kentucky 40484.
