Position Description

Tacoma Power is seeking a capable individual to join its Energy Risk Management team. The Risk Control & Analyst will be responsible for administering the risk control program and managing credit risk for Tacoma Power's commercial energy trading operation.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

•Responsible for all trade validation and confirmation processes, the accurate modeling of all trades, development of independent forward price curves and the daily validation of the risk system to ensure proper credit and risk reporting.

•Prepare, monitor counterparty credit exposure.

•Coordinate with counterparties and Legal Department on negotiation of contracts collateral agreements, guarantees, letters of credit, etc.

•Develop risk analysis and reports for the Risk Management Committee, Credit Risk Committee, Senior Management and the Public Utility Board.

•Participate in the development and implementation of risk policies and procedures.

Qualifications

•Experience energy markets preferred.

•Familiarity with credit risk management analytical methods and energy trading risk management (ETRM) software is a plus.

•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math or other technical/business discipline. Graduate degree a plus.

•Attention to detail with the ability to multitask.

•Strong communication and presentation skills.

•Ability to develop spreadsheet applications and learn other specialized software products.

•Demonstrated ability to work closely with peers in a team environment.

•Reliable, high level of integrity.

•Ability to work independently.

•Strong MS Excel capability.

•Experience using scripting language to automate processes, such as Java, Python, Visual Basic, SQL, or the like.
