General Music classes have students singing, moving, listening, performing, composing/improvising, and reading/writing (literacy) musicand are provided to every child, kindergarten through 4th grade, at Pleasant Valley.

Additionally, our 3rd and 4th grader music curriculum involves learning the recorder. Pleasant Valley purchases recorders, inexpensively, in bulk, so that our students get a quality recorder at the lowest cost. Please wait for the detailed recorder letter in order to send in the $5.00 cost.

Some PV students might have other chances to perform during our annual Veterans program in November or the volunteer luncheon in May. Occasionally, we choose to have students perform at other venues, too. For example, last year a small group of students walked to the fire station, next to PV, on September 11th, in order to sing songs honoring Patriots’ Day.

Within the next few weeks, more detailed information about our extra-curricular choir, orchestra, 4th grade strings classes, 5th grade band and orchestra, and recorderswill be sent home with students of those particular age levels. We look forward to providing your child with a wonderful musical experience here at Pleasant Valley. Contact us by phone or by email with your questions.

Sincerely,

PV Music Team
