Alcohol and other Drugs Worker
Alcohol and Drug Foundation that operates Kathleen York House is along term, abstinent based residential treatment facility for women, and women with children, experiencing drug and alcohol and mental health issues. Kathleen York House, seeks a dynamic individual for the position of a clinical coordinator.
Employment Status: Full time Position - 38 hours per week
Award: SCHADS Award - Level dependent upon qualifications and experience,plus superannuation and attractive salary sacrifice arrangements
Purpose of Position
To provide Clinical support to case managers ,ensure smooth running of program and clinical delivery that reflect good practice standards ; coordinating activities including allocation, clinical review, case discussions, waitlist management and bed occupancy: providing a range of interventions for individuals, groups and families including children affected by AOD dependency
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Minimum 6 years experience in the alcohol and other drugs field
- Excellent understanding of the complex range of issues involved in substance misuse, and provision of services including but not limited to pregnant women, women caring for children, women with co-occurring mental health problems, Aboriginal women and women from CALD backgrounds
- Experience in trauma and borderline personality disorders
- Knowledge of available community treatment options, and community resources, for the alcohol and other drug client group.
- Experience in designing, delivering and evaluating education and training programs to human service providers and community groups.
- Experience in interagency networking and community related activities.
- Understanding of the policy, legal and regulatory environment for treatment of substance-dependence and drug education, including child protection
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated and well developed supervisory skills and ability to work with minimal supervision, delivering a professional service.
- Current Drivers Licence and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle (i.e. mini bus)
- Current First Aid Certificate
