Emily B. Kile, Esq.
Emily B. Kile is a graduate of the Northeastern School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado, Boulder and holds a Masters Degree in Psychology from Boston College. Emily is the Chair of the Elder Law, Mental Health and Special Needs Planning Section of the Arizona State Bar Association (2012-2013). She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NEALA), past President of the Arizona Chapter (2008), and a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners and the Special Needs Alliance. Emily is former member of the Board of Directors of the Foothills Caring Corps, a non profit agency serving North Phoenix, North Scottsdale, and the Carefree/Cave Creek communities and a former member of the Education Committee for the Alzheimer’s Association. Emily serves on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Senior Living. She is licensed to practice law in Arizona. She has been licensed to practice law since 1993. The Supreme Court of Arizona has re-appointed Emily to serve on the Fiduciary Board through December 31, 2016. The Fiduciary Board oversees the approval and discipline of fiduciaries licensed in the State of Arizona by the Supreme Court.
Emily has been a speaker at the annual conference at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (2006) and the Arizona NAELA Symposium (2008 and 2010). She regularly provides in-service education to hospice organizations, social workers and discharge planners in the community.
Her practice is focused on estate planning and related matters, including Medicaid (ALTCS), VA and long term care planning, special needs planning, guardianship and conservatorship issues and estate settlement/probate.
Emily has a strong commitment to family. She and her husband have been married since 1996 and have known each other since high school. Their dog Dug (a Havanese) is named for the talking dog in the movie “Up.” She has extended family that lives here locally and her sister, Jennifer Blum, is one of the firm’s team members. Emily's niece, Mansa, has down syndrome; allowing Emily some insight into issues faced by people with special needs and their families.
