RUBRIC FOR GROUP TEACHING

PROJECT

Information and purpose of the Group OB project:

Teaching and promotion of healthy lifestyles and associated health related subjects is an integral part of the nursing profession. The Group Project is an example of that professional responsibility. This assignment will provide each student the opportunity to be involved in working with a selected and assigned small group. The group will find a teaching opportunity and plan the exercise with a contact from the teaching site. The group will research the demographics of the target population and plan the activity accordingly.

Thestudents will find a suitable site. One student within the group will act as liason to communicate with the instructor to verify the appropriateness of the site and schedule of presentation times. Each group will present the project to the clinical instructor at least one week before the formal presentation. Presentations will be scheduled on non-clinical and non-class days only. Each student will utilize this rubric to guide presentation, development and presentation of the topic or subject

Once done, each student should turn in this completed form to their clinical instructor. To meet requirements for the Group Process Rubric the student will utilize the group process questions as instructed on the Rubric located on Black Boardand which must also be turned in to the instructor with this packet. Each student should also include a copy of minutes of group meetings with all present, dates and times included.

In addition, each student will submit via Black Board the Preceptor Evaluation of the project and student.

Instructions:

  1. Each group will generate and provide to instructor a one page typed analysis of the group’s project.
  2. Each student within the group will complete the EBP rubric anda Group Dynamics rubric. Both these rubrics will be turned in to the clinical instructor for grading.
