2018 OWL CREEK BOARD OF DIRECTORS CANDIDATES

Greg Bartholomai Address: 10604 Garden Creek Place| Number of years lived in Owl Creek: 20

Qualifications & Experience: Part owner of Mortgage Network Inc. for over 30 years. I have served as president of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville, past board member of St. Margaret Mary School Advisory Committee, past board member of Owl Creek Community Association and in various roles in Business Network International (BNI) for the past 20 years. I first joined Owl Creek Board when I began construction of my home in 1997 and have served in the roles of Landscape and Finance for OCCA board. I also helped with the negotiations between Owl Creek and Forest Green as that development started.

Community Involvement: I have volunteered over the years for Owl Creek, my church and for my children’s schools. I have assisted with the Dads and Kids Campout – having attended 19 of them. My family and I have actively participated with most of the activities that make our neighborhood special including the Oktoberfest and Hanging of the Greens.

What will your contribution be as a Board member? I have a BS in finance from Indiana University Kelly School of Business and an MBA from Bellarmine University. I will be able to bring my knowledge of finance and the housing industry to the board and will strive to ensure we are good stewards and fiscally responsible with our assessments and other resources.

What is your vision for Owl Creek? I moved to Owl Creek because of the community atmosphere and would like to help maintain Owl Creek as one of the most desired neighborhoods in Louisville. All of my children are grateful to have grown up in our neighborhood and my youngest son Matt recently told me he couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

Grant Hart Address: 10830 Hobbs Station Road |Number of years lived in Owl Creek: 18

Qualifications & Experience: My profession is sales and sales management where the goal is always to use a team to reach a common goal. I have significant Board experience having served on a trade association board as well as having served on a Jefferson County Fire Department Board. I currently serve on a standards committee of the National Fire Protection Association.

Community Involvement: Most recently I served on the committee dealing with the development of the apartment complex on Morat Avenue. This committee worked first to oppose the development and then worked with the developer to minimize how it affects Owl Creek as a whole and our Neighbors whose properties are directly next to the development. I continue to monitor this project and correspond with the developer over issues that affect our Community and will until the project is completed. Previously I served on the board here in Owl Creek for 7 years but had to leave suddenly so I could provide the care needed for my infirmed mother. I also served on the board for 2 years in a very similar neighborhood in Lexington named “Firebrook”

What will your contribution be as a Board member? If I am honored to be elected to the Board, I will bring my past board experience, knowledge of Owl Creek that I have gained in my years here plus my many years of business experience to continue the progress we are making to keep Owl Creek as unquestionably one of the premier neighborhoods in the Metro Area. I feel that the value we receive from an investment in living in Owl Creek is virtually unmatched anywhere in the region and that our Board has an unwavering obligation to maintain that standard in all areas of its responsibility.

What is your vision for Owl Creek? Up-to-date amenities, prudent fiscal policy, the finest social events, continued maintenance and updating of our valuable infrastructure, and consistent individual property maintenance, along with the best community management available would be my mantra to maintain the Neighborhood that was envisioned when this Community was developed and that our Neighbors have come to expect. I believe we all want to continue to build on the work of the previous boards using a strong board team to provide leadership in all areas for the Neighborhood.

Jim Julian Address: 10933 Hobbs Station Road |Number of years lived in Owl Creek: 6

Qualifications & Experience: I have academic training (BS in Commercial Horticulture from Purdue) and several years of experience (some professional and some personal) in landscape management. This knowledge base has served me well as I have been the Landscape Committee Chair for the past three years. In this role, I have negotiated the contracts for our landscape vendor, over seen continued renovation and repair of the wooden perimeter fence and several cul-de-sac islands, requesting bids and overseeing the work in each of the last three budget cycles.

Community Involvement: Since moving to Owl Creek about six years ago, I have helped with events such as Hanging of the Greens, Trivia night, Oktoberfest, and the 5k run. As an Owl Creek board member, aside from my duties as the Landscape Chair, I have helped with Volunteer Appreciation events and Annual Town Hall meetings.

What will your contribution be as a Board member? I would like to continue as the Landscape Committee Chair to further the renovation and repairs of the wooden perimeter fence and cul-de-sac islands as well as work with our new landscape contractor to improve the aesthetics of the Owl Creek landscape.

What is your vision for Owl Creek? Owl Creek is a great place to live. However, some of the green space areas are showing their age (some were established in the 1980’s). I would like to bring them back to life and return visual appeal to the areas that have seen better days while being a good steward of our financial resources.

Josh Richardson Address: 11520 Spring Heath Court |Number of years lived in Owl Creek: 5

Qualifications & Experience: Professionally, I am an Account Executive for TEKsystems, where for the past 10 years I have had the privilege of managing the relationships with our Federal, State and Local Government clients. Through this work experience, I have gained valuable insight into providing solutions on a wide array of problems, from contract negotiations and conflict resolution to evaluating risk and driving organizational change.

Community Involvement: I have served on the OCCA Board for 3 years, 2 as the Architectural Chair and 1 as the Operations Chair. I have volunteered to set up, take down and work various Owl Creek functions including Dads & Kids Campout Oktoberfest, Hanging/Unhanging of the Greens, Trivia Night, Blood Drive and Splash Jam.

What will your contribution be as a Board member? I will bring the ability to look at our 3-5 year plan and make sure we are able to provide something for everyone, no matter what your age, background, or interests are. I believe it is paramount for the board to maintain and improve our community for the next generation. I will also bring the ability to recruit the number of volunteers necessary to make all our functions a success.

What is your vision for Owl Creek? To build upon the foundation of the great community we have and make the next 30 years of Owl Creek even better than the first. I will work hard to drive Owl Creek into becoming the destination neighborhood in Louisville, and a neighborhood that our kids will be PROUD TO have called home.
