Are you and a team of colleagues ready to become Instructional Innovators in SLUSD?

The Educational Services team is looking for teachers who:

  • Want to scale their impact far beyond their own classroom, grade level/department, school.
  • Deeply understand the content they teach and want to expand and develop that conceptual understanding in alignment with Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills: Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Creativity and Innovation, Communication, Competence in a Global Community and Digital Literacy.
  • Are excited to give and receive thoughtful and critical feedback on teaching and learning.
  • Are ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into meaningful and rigorous lesson design, technology integration, and performance based demonstrations of understanding.
  • Are eager to join professional learning communities that are committed to providing high-quality, responsive resources to all teachers and students.
  • Are enthusiastic to integrate technology across curriculum, instruction, assessment, administrative tasks, professional development, communications, and decision-making.
  • Be willing to use the latest 21st century technology as a part of instruction
  • Be willing to learn the skills necessary to ensure students will acquire lifelong 21st century technology skills

The application tool is the completion of the response form below that highlights the learning community’s capacity to build towards the following five components. Be sure to discuss how you have either integrated technology into some of these components or discuss how your team would like to integrate technology.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Complete the following application Information Form. Please make sure the form is complete with all team members’ contact information. Please select the “featured practice” your learning community would like training in next summer/year and include on the information form. Your team must be wiling to serve as a demonstration classroom for that given practice. See the menu of featured practices/instructional methodologies to choose from.
  2. Complete the following application Response Form by providing bulleted information in the response row for each component.
  3. Email application materials to Dr. Rosanna Mucetti at . Please use the following naming convention for the application materials you submit electronically by Friday, January 10th, 5:00 pm:

  5. Final selections will be announced no later than Monday, January 20th.STIPEND Amount for 18-month commitment: $2500; SUMMER COMPENSATION: $250 per day for each mandatory summer training day; TOTAL COMPENSATION: $3,250- Please see “Scope of Work” for more details.

INFORMATION FORM

The selection of instructional innovator learning communities will be based on the thoughtful completion of this application;remote interviews with the team contact lead during the week of January 13th; site leadership recommendation; and with consideration towards creating balance and scalability for the district as an organization (i.e. K-12, content areas, schools, etc.) Site administrators will be contacted to provide a recommendation for any learning communities that apply from their given sites.
