JOB TITLE:SeniorPremises Development Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO:Headteachers of the schools within the Stanway Federation Academy Trust
PARTICULAR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist with the strategic planning of all aspects related to the premises of all Trust schools.
- To be responsible for the risk management relating to Health & Safety and the management of any third party service contracts.
- To advise the Trust on all issues relating to premises.
GRADE:
Starting Salary in the range £29,528-£36,676 (depending on qualifications and experience)
MAIN ACTIVITIES ATTRIBUTABLE TO PARTICULAR DUTIES:
Stanway, Thomas Lord Audley & Alderman Blaxill Schools
- To monitor and oversee the quality of work of the caretaking staff at Stanway, Thomas Lord Audley (TLA) and Alderman Blaxill (AB) Schools.
- To oversee cleaning at Stanway, TLA & AB Schools in liaison with caretaking staff and cleaning contractors.
- To ensure that records of regular fire practice and alarm tests are up to date at Stanway, TLA & AB.
- To work with the caretaking staff to ensure the security of the Stanway, TLA & AB sites.
- To be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the playing fields, gardens, playgrounds and land drainage of the Stanway, TLA & AB sites. To ensure the maintenance of boundaries, footpaths, roads and rights of way.
- To be responsible, with the Site Manager/Head Caretaker, for the management of the purchase, repair and maintenance of all furniture and fittings of the Stanway, TLA & AB sites.
- To ensure that the best use is made of premises personnel across the Trust and be responsible for allocation of hours and pay claims at Stanway, TLA & AB Schools
All Trust Schools
- To liaise with the Site Managers/Head Caretakers of the Trust schools to prepare maintenance schedules and ensure the efficient operation of all facilities.
- In cooperation with the Fire Service or accredited agencies to be responsible for the maintenance and installation of equipment for protection against and escape from fire.
- To conduct regular reviews of all Trust sites in order to identify the main Health & Safety issues specific to each school.
- To develop all school facilities for out of school use, with particular reference to the local community.
- To acquire and dispose of land and buildings as authorised by the Headteacher and Governing Body of each Trust school.
- To draw up outline specifications for new buildings, obtaining tenders, obtaining planning permission and liaising with building contractors at each Trust school.
- To know about risk assessment tools and how to use them to establish hazards within each school in the Trust.
- To ensure the maintenance of the Incident Management guidelines and Disaster Recovery plans in each school in the Trust.
- To participate in the performance review process, taking responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities for premises personnel across the Trust.
- Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
