RE: Spring 2016 Jump Start Session
January 2, 2016
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Your child is enrolled in a class or program which entitles him or her to participate in Ocean County College’s Jump Start Program. Through the Jump Start Program, high school students can get a “jump” on their college education and receive college credits while attending high school.
The approximate cost of a four-credit course taken at Ocean County College is $560. OCVTS students pay only $240 for the same four-credit course. The OCVTS Board of Education pays the difference. Jump Start courses are taught at OCVTS during normal class time. Your child does not need to travel to the college to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Jump Start Program remains one of the best benefits your child will receive in high school. For a nominal cost to you, he or she will receive college credits which can be used toward a degree or certificate at OCC or, in many cases, transferred to a four-year institution.
The OCVTS guidance office will be processing the registration forms. Please note that the due date for both the registration form and $240 (Check or Money Order payable to OCVTS) is Monday, January 25nd, 2016. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Brett Mekles department at 732.473.3100 ext. 3148.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Clarke
