We are pleased to welcome you to this unique sale of 120 Texel X Hogett ewes and 20 Pedigree Texel females of top quality on behalf of the Ryan Texel Group, Flor, Johnny and Jackie Ryan. The sale consists of 20 Pedigree Texel ewes with their March born lambs at foot and 120 Texel crossbred hogget ewes 60 with their April born lambs at foot. The lawn Flock was established in 1990 with the purchase of ewes at society sales. When selecting ewes and stock rams, much emphasis was placed on the commercial attributes of the breed, i.e Muscling, Length, Tight skins and Correctness.

REFERENCE TO SIRES
Baileys One and Only: EBE 08004
Baileys one and only was purchased jointly with the Ballybur Flock at the 2008 Premier Sale for the sale topping price of 4500gns. He was chosen for his super power and Texel character. Since his purchase One and Only has grown into a tremendous sheep. His sire is the £28,000 ram Forkins Nijinsky and his dam is by Craighead Hercules. Baileys One and Only’s progeny were very popular in the sales ring over the last few years. At the 2010 Premier Sale Ryan Texel flocks sold 5 shearling ewes for an average of €1,030 and 4 shearling rams from the Ballybur flock sold for the top shearling pen average of €775.
Kilcoursey Nice Fella: XNI 07010
Nice Fella was purchased at the Growvite Texel All- Ireland in 2007 where he won the Novice Breeder Ram Lamb class. Nicefella has super length and exceptional muscling. His sire Shannagh Lucky is a very successful show ram for the Noble family throughout the country. Nice Fella was the Supreme champion at Ossary show in 2010.
Straidarran Strauss Kahn.WXS 11079
Strauss Kahn was purchased by Ryan Texels and Ballybur Flock at the Premier Sale in Ballymena 2011.He was selected for his power muscling and excellent tight skin.His first crop of lambs from the Baileys One & Only daughters look very promising.His sire is the 6500gns purchase Duncryne Ringmaster and his dam is by Clynnog Joe Tex.
Garrolagh Iggy Pop GMI 02019
Iggy Pop was purchased at the 2001 Irish Texel Premier Sale at Blessington Mart from the late Gerard Murphy for 2100 gns. Iggy Pop was a very successful sire having won at over 10 shows throughout his showing career. His major achievements include winning the Growvite Texel All Ireland Stock Ram Class in 2004 and remained unbeaten in the show ring that year. Iggy Pop bred excellent offspring with lots of length and muscle. His progeny performed well in the shows and sales ring with his top daughter selling at 1800 gns to Ellen Bailey and in 2006 at the Growvite Texel All Ireland the winning ewe lamb was sired by Iggy Pop.
Roughan Laptop:SJI 05025
Laptop was purchased by the Sire reference group at the 2005 Irish Texel Premier sale for €3,000. Laptop has proven to be the most successful ram ever purchased by the Reference Group to date, having sired many champions at shows and sales. His recent successes include champion at the 2008 Premier sale which sold for €4,000. At the 2010 Tullamore National Livestock show, he was sire of the first prize winning stock ram, shearling ram and aged ewe. Two of these class winners went on to win Supreme Champion and Reserve champion rewards at that show.
