This template enables proceedings editors and conference committees to communicate essential information about their proceedings to ASCE Publications, as well as to submit the front matter for their proceedings. It should be completed and submitted along with the final files for papers.

Copyright & notices page (follows title page)

The copyright and notices page contains information such as the year of publication, the copyright owner, the publisher’s address, and International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) associated with the title. For ASCE books, this page also contains a disclaimer, information about photocopies and permissions, and information about errata. Cataloging-in-Publication data from the Library of Congress is often included. Credits for illustrations or photographs used on the cover also appear on this page. This page will be completed by ASCE Publications

The technical program committee or proceedings editor must provide a draft of the table of contents.

The table of contents may be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (for shorter proceedings) or as a spreadsheet. In either case, the complete name of each paper, the paper authors, and track/session must be included, and the papers listed in the proper order. The table of contents can only contain full-length papers; abstracts and slide presentations are not included in a published proceedings.

The table of contents must be submitted with the final manuscript, so that the acquisitions editor can verify that all material expected to be in the book has been turned over. The final table of contents will be formatted by production staff.

Preface

The technical program committee or proceedings editor must provide a preface.

The preface presents the purpose and scope of the proceedings. In it, the editor provides an overview of the subjects covered by the papers, perhaps highlighting important themes or tracks. The preface should focus on the collection of papers, rather than the goals or circumstances of the conference itself. A description of the review process should also be included.

Acknowledgments

The technical program committee or proceedings editor has the option of providing acknowledgments.

Acknowledgments can be included as a subsection of the preface or as a separate section. In the acknowledgments, it is appropriate to recognize the contributions and support of colleagues, sponsors, institutions, and so on. It is also appropriate to list members of the technical program committee.
