TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.  The Product Identification Service is available in relation to all Microsoft products.

2.  Product samples must be accompanied by a completed application form and supporting documentation, including the invoice or receipt relating to your purchase of the software. If the application form is incomplete, we are unable to verify the product and will return the product sample and form to you. If you are unable to provide us with any invoice or receipt relating to the purchase of the software, we may verify the product at our discretion.

3.  If we verify the products submitted by you as genuine, we will return those products to you.

4.  The replacement of any counterfeit Microsoft products submitted to us will be in our absolute discretion.

5.  If we exercise our discretion and decide to replace software that has been verified as counterfeit, we reserve the right to provide you with:

a.  a copy of Windows XP Professional or if it is Office it will be a more current version of the software than the one submitted by you for verification; and

b.  a local English language version of the software, if you submit a foreign language version of software or other software purchased outside Australia for verification.

6.  If we exercise our discretion and replace the counterfeit product submitted by you, you undertake to us not to contact the supplier of those counterfeit products or disclose to any person the fact of our investigations in relation to that counterfeit product, without our prior written consent.

7.  Product which is identified as being counterfeit and which is not replaced by us will be returned to you upon request. However, because the product is illegal, you are not licensed to sell, supply, distribute, install or use that software and must delete it from any computer systems on which it was previously installed.

8.  We will endeavor to notify you of the results of the verification process no later than 30 days of receiving your product sample(s).

9.  Product samples may be unwrapped for testing and verification.

10.  Information provided by you may be used in our anti-piracy initiatives. You consent to the transfer of the information you have provided to third parties, such as investigators and legal advisors and to the copyright holder who is not in Australia.

11.  All correspondence will be forwarded to you at the address specified on this form.

12.  We are not liable for any postage incurred by you in submitting the product sample and supporting documentation to the Product Identification Service.

13.  We are not under any obligation to provide this service and reserve the right to return the product(s) to you without performing any verification of those products.
