Item / Bingo Fundraiser

  • The Board wished to thank all those involved in making in the Bingo fundraiser such a huge success for the school. A total of €4,031 was raised and this will be used to fund, the update of PE equipment, running costs of the school and the development of music within the school. The BOM (Board of Management) would like to acknowledge the support of the Bingo fundraising subcommittee, members of the Parent Association (PA), staff and all parents and the wider community who supported the event.

2 / Music
  • The BOM in association with the PA have approved the roll out of a music programme for all classes in the school. This programme will commence in April for an 8-week period and is being facilitated and supported by the teaching staff in the school. The BOM will review the purchase of percussion instruments in Sept as part of the further roll out of this initiative.

3 / PE Equipment
  • In collaboration with the PA, approval has been sanctioned by the BOM for the purchase of PE equipment.

4 / Website Development
  • The BOM have approved the setting up of a sub committee to review the design of the school’s website

5 / Policies
  • A schedule of all school policies is being prepared with a view to establishing and prioritising timelines for completion

6 / Building Project Update
  • Discussions and engagement is continuing with the design team in getting the building project commenced.

7 / Enrolment for 2016
  • Limited capacity has been identified in certain classes for Sept 2016.

8 / Confirmation
  • Confirmation is due to take place on the 22nd of April for our 6th class pupils
  • Confirmation for Lisnagry St Vincent’s pupils will take place in the Parish on the 26th of April.

9 / Cake Sale & Bazaar
  • A Cake Sale & Bazaar will be held on Friday 29th of April in the Halla. This will be held in Mr Scanlon’s classroom

10 / Great Limerick Run
  • The kids Great Limerick Run is scheduled to take place on Saturday April 30th . Last year Ahane was privileged to have one of the highest participation of all national schools in the county. The cost of entry is €15 per child, €5 of each entry fee will be donated to the school.
