About the City

Newcastle, situated less than 2 hours from Sydney, was discovered in 1797 and is rich in history. As you stroll around its streets and harbour you will encounter much of the history of Newcastle’s early convict past whilst at the same time experiencing a modern thriving metropolis.

Newcastle enjoys a colourful harbour (made famous by the Pasha Bulka) where you can see ships being manoeuvred in and out of the Port, yet at the same time experiencing the beauty of its beaches. Just a short distance away is Lake Macquarie and less than an hour will find you enjoying the renowned wines of the Hunter Valley.
