EXTRA NEWS
  • CongratulationsCas! He made it to 1,000 on his scroll!
  • Please help your child remember their snack each day. As part of their responsibility, have them put their snack in their backpack right when they put their homework away.
  • In your child’s Friday Folder please be sure to find your upcoming conference time. You will also find a note about March is Reading month. Each first grader is encouraged to pick out a story and read it to the class.
  • In math this week we started to work on counting change. Your child should be able to recognize the penny, nickel and dime, tell you how much they are worth, and count a small group of coins.
  • In religion this upcoming week we will discuss how we can pray, fast, and give alms during Lent. We will take a break from our personal journals and write a Lenten Reflection. We will write an Opinion writing/Persuasive writing. If someone did not want to do anything for Lent, how could you persuade/convince them of the importance of this Holy Season? Why do you feel it is important to give something up/fast during Lent? Do you feel extra prayer makes Lent more meaningful? Persuade someone to give alms, pray more often, and fast during Lent.In your opinion why are these importantactivities to include in Lent? It would be very helpful to your child if you could discuss your opinion with them and why you feel these things are important. I hope this can be a part of your dinner conversations or car rides over the next few days as we prepare ourselves for this upcoming Lenten Season.
