Our Qualifications

Gregory T. Davis, our President, entered the marine surveying field in 1973 as an apprentice. In 1977 he set up his own firm, Davis & Company Limited, which presently is the largest in North America. Mr. Davis currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Boat and Yacht Council, The National Fire Protection Association Standards Committee on Marinas and Boatyards (NFPA303), The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers O-45 panel on passenger vessel Fire Protection and Life Safety, and is Chair, Yachts and Small Craft Technical Committee of the National Association of Marine Surveyors, Inc.
Our staff of 86 marine surveyors is comprised of either certified or accredited marine surveyors and factory-certified mechanics. Many of our surveyors are ABYC Standards Accredited. Check the surveyor locator map on our website those that are will have the ABYC Standards Accreditation artwork after their name.

The consulting engineering group is comprised of registered professional engineers and engineers with many years of practicing experience in the marine field. The Manager of the group is Bill Hayden, VP Engineering NA, P.E. He is NMMA compliance certified. Bill, Dick Akers (P.E.), and Greg Davis (NAMS-CMS) are also ABYC Standards Accredited.
