Larry explained the May 2017 statistics and financials. There was a net income of $(91,535.16) for the month and $2,531,249.12 YTD. Days cash on hand 120.30. Presented a power point showing revenue & expenses for May 2017 with comparisons to prior year & budget.
Larry explained a regulation we have been made aware of concerning provider based clinics. This will involve the Steindler clinic since we do the billing for them and include them on our cost report. We will no longer be able to have them included on that report. Also, may need to move them out of the specialty clinic area and into the Rural Health Clinic area. Working with our auditors to evaluate the situation.
Mrs. Rebling asked for the CEO's report. Mr. Hunger explained:
· He reported that a copy of the bylaws was emailed with the agenda for review. There are no changes. Mr. Hanshaw moved and Mr. Miller seconded to approve the JCHC Board Bylaws. Motion carried unanimously.
· Chiller Replacement - price is just under $40,000. As Larry Mitchell explained to Bryan - This issue stems from when we built. HGA sized our chiller units too small and their fix was to install a chip in each of the 4 systems - making them run 108%. We still had trouble keeping up until we got the 80 tons of O.R. chiller installed which then took some load off those units. We lost 2 compressors before we had the OR Chiller. The board at that time realized we could lose the other 2 later as they have been ran too hard for too long and this is one of these. If we can fix this one before it completely goes out it will save a lot of trouble because it is going to fail. Each one does 25% of the hospital less the OR area now. Mr. Keller moved and Mr. Hanshaw seconded to proceed with this purchase. Motion carried unanimously.
· Website Update – we have chosen Blue Compass out of Des Moines as our vendor. They were recommended by IHA. We will be meeting with them on July 10.
· Open House along with Chamber Business After hours is set for July 26 from 4-6 PM. Ribbon cutting at 4 PM and tours begin at 4:15 PM.
· An OB/Gyn has contacted us about possible PT employment. She does not do deliveries but could bring some additional procedures to our services. We are evaluating this.
· Employee survey individual dept meetings will be finished Wednesday July 5. Then will provide follow up to leadership team and managers. There were some good suggestions that we should be able to address.
· Dr. Cochran has resigned from the County Board of Public Health. This is a concern for us as a county & community – there are things that cannot be done without a medical director.
Mrs. Rebling gave the Chair report. No report this month.
Mr. Reifsteck moved and Mr. Keller seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
