Team Manager Role and Responsibility:
Principle Duties
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Central Swimming swim team during thetour period
- Manage logistical requirements for travel, accommodation, uniform prior to departure.
Specific Duties
Pre-tour
1.At all times the manager will confer with the Head Coach on all matters relating to the organisation and direction of the tour.
2.Liaise with Central Swimming on pre-tour requirements – funding applications, travel, accommodation, catering, uniforms, entries, accreditation, budget, medical/health/travel insurance, code of conduct/team and staff agreements, and other issues as required.
3.Liaise with Assistant Managers/Coaches and swimmers on pre-tour requirements and arrangements.
Tour
- Travel and stay with the team at all times.
- Responsible for travel, accommodation, budget, meals and logistical requirements of team.
- Responsible for tasks assigned byHead Coach.
- Responsible for poolside operations ie marshalling, dope testing, training times etc.
- Effective communication and delegation to all team members with regard to the meet.
Post Tour
- Within one week of returning from tour, provide a written report to Central Swimming on – travel, accommodation, uniforms, meals, logistical issues and general comments onmeet and organisation
- Submit financial report to Central Swimming on tour
- Make recommendations to Central Swimming on strategies to improve future tours
