National Institute of Design is an Institute of National Importance by NIC Act 2014 and an autonomous Institute under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India

The National Institute of Design (NID) offers 4-years Bachelor of Design (B.Des) Program at Ahmedabad, GDPD at Kurukshetra and Vijaywada and 2½ years Master of Design (M.Des) Program at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bengaluru Campuses

NID 2018

Candidates will get B.Des at NID Ahmedabad. GDPD admission is offered at NID Kurukshetra and Vijayawada. The selection of the candidates in any of the course will be done as per the performance in Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and Main.

The objective of NID DAT 2018 will be to assess the knowledge, skills and behavioural abilities of candidates

About Design Aptitude Test (DAT)

All candidates applying for B.Des, GDPD and M.Des Programs and having made the necessary payment for registration online will be called for the Design Aptitude Test
The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims primarily evaluates each candidate on the following abilities:
Knowledge
Analysis
Comprehension
Creativity
Visualisation
DAT Prelims will consist of two parts:
Part I: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) marked out of 70 points. The responses of this part will be recorded on an OMR sheet and evaluated digitally
Part II: Subjective questions marked out of 30 points, with responses to be provided in visual and/or written formats. The Design Aptitude Test (Prelims) will include an examination of three hours duration
This will be a pen-and-paper test.
The question paper will be in English. All questions are compulsory.
There will be no negative marking.
DAT Mains 2018 Exam Pattern
DAT Mains 2018 will consist of tests in different formats such as drawing/sketching, hands-on model making, group discussions, presentations, etc.
These will be marked out of 100 points and will be conducted in English

NID DAT Result 2018

NID will declare Result of DAT Prelims 2018 on March 13. The candidates’ scores will also be available for viewing at this time. Separate result score cards will not be sent individually to them

DAT will be conducted in the following cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada
