East Aurora Cross Country Parent Information Sheet
Thank you in advance for being part of the EA Cross Country Program.
Without your support we would not be able to reach our individual and team goals.
1. Practice Times: Usually 3:00 – 5:00 Monday – Friday here at the high school.
*There is no late bus from school. Students need to schedule rides. Carpool if you can.
2. Meet Schedule: *Dual Meets are on Tuesdays and normally start at: Home 4:30, Away 5:00.
*Junior High Meets are on *Wednesdays and start at 5:00.
*Invitationals are normally on Saturdays but may include a Friday.
We will usually depart from the high school and return to the high school for every meet.
*Athletes should not miss fall meets to visit colleges...that can and should be done pre and post-season.
3. Traveling Home from Meets: Athletes may only ride home with their parent or guardian.
With a parent note, athletes may ride home with another parent.
*On meet days we must allow time (about 30 minutes) for the athletes to do their team cool-down after their race and before leaving the meet site.
4. Meet Scoring: Add the places of the first 5 finishers of each team. Low Score wins.
1-4-5-8-9=27 2-3-6-7-10=28
The 6th runner is the tie-breaker if there is a tie.
Both 6th + 7th runners can displace the other team’s top 5 runners, adding points to their score.
