Our Purpose
The Citizen’s Police Academy was developed to promote understanding and cooperation between The St. Louis County Police Department and the people it serves. We are proud to offer the Citizen’s Academy to local residents and business employees throughout our community.
We encourage our citizens to become actively involved in their neighborhood, by providing information that can form a partnership with local law enforcement to aid in solving community problems.
Goals
To provide greater awareness and understanding between our department and the citizens we serve.
- To provide participants with an understanding of the operations and resources of The St. Louis County Police Department.
- To provide insight into the divisions and functions of The St. Louis County Police Department.
Basic Training Academy
- The Basic Citizen’s Police Academy is held once a week for asix week period.
- The Citizen’s Academy is a hands-on workshop, featuring different aspects and units of the St. Louis County Police Department.
- The academy provides information aboutvarious law enforcement incidents, included but not limited to traffic stops, active shooter role plays, crime scene investigations, just to name a few.
At the end of the Academy classes, each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion at a ceremony. The Academy is open to all St. Louis County residents and is free of charge. Advanced registration is required.For more information or to register for the academy,

Classes will start tentativelyTuesday, March 7, 2017, 6:30p.m.-8:00p.m. and will be held every Tuesday, for 6 weeks. You will be notified of your admittance into these classes, as there is a space limitation. This application should be completed and submitted to the North County Precinct Neighborhood Policing Unit, 11815 Benham Road, 63138, by February 20, 2017, for consideration.

Please submit this completed application by Friday, February 20, 2017, to the Neighborhood Policing Office at the North County Precinct, 11815 Benham Road, 63138. You will be notified before the class start, of your admittance into the classes, as there are space limitations.
Classes will be held starting Tuesdays, March 7, 2017, 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m., (for 6 Tuesdays)
at The Black Jack City Hall, located at 12500 Old Jamestown Road.
