CAKE BAKE Come to the Hall at lunchtime on Thursday 17th March and Friday 18th March for a selection of cheap but tasty cakes being sold in aid of the SSPCA and Sports Relief. (DT)

Sports Relief Thursday 17th – Everyone come along to the hall at lunchtime to watch S6 and teachers Zumba. Donate and buy cakes for Sports Relief!.

Sports Relief Friday 18th - Bring Monday for sports games, bake sale and face painting in the hall. All donations go to sport relief. Win prizes.

Orienteering S1-6 There is a competition this Saturday at Fogwatt this coming Saturday. If you are interested in taking part – please contact Mr McAvinue in PE department. (PMc)

Sports Personality of the year 2016 Pupils must apply to be considered for this prestigious award and the winner will be decided by a whole school vote. You are eligible to apply if you compete in any sporting activity at regional, national or international level. You are also eligible to apply if you give up lots of time to coach sports to others. The closing date for entries is FRIDAY 18th March so make sure yours is in on time!! (RS)

S2 Pupil Council Please can members of the S2 pupil council attend a meeting during period 2 on Friday 18th March in the meeting room (G54). Pupils should report to class and register, then come along to the meeting. Thanks (KS)

S3 Student council meeting The student council meeting is in G54 on Thursday 17 March P1.

Novelties Book Club Please make sure you are at the meeting today, as we shall be voting in The Grampian Children’s Book Award. In the library, at lunchtime.

S1/S2 cookery club will run this Thursday from 3.20pm – 4.20pm this will be the last one before the holidays. Please sign up in the HE department. (KA)

Register to Vote for 5th May Scottish Election Last summer the Scottish parliament passed an Act that allows 16 and 17 year olds to vote in the Scottish elections. If you are 16 by 5th May 2016 then you can vote. However you must register in order to receive a voting card. 15 years olds can register as long as they are 16 by May 5th. Posters will be issued during the course of this week via registration folders, giving you information on how to register. Use your vote! (Could register teachers please display posters in their room. Thank you for your help. (EH)

SfLare looking for some volunteers to help put together a summerhouse on Wednesday.4th and 5th year pupils who have study periods can apply. Anyone interested and the periods they are available, can leave their name with Support for Learning staff.

English Study Support Study support for N5 and Higher is available from all English teachers from now until the SQA exams. See your English teacher for further details. In addition to this, Mr Valentine is offering drop-in sessions on Tuesdays after school (from Tuesday 1 March, 3.30-4.30) for anyone with a specific query or question. (IV)

Maths study club: In addition to the weekly after-school maths study club that runs on a Thursday there will also be a National 5 maths study club running weekly in G39 after school on a Wednesday.

Come along and work on exam technique in order to prepare for the final exam.

S4-6 Biology Study Support Biology study support is available every Wednesday at lunchtime with Mrs Shaw orafter school from 3.25-4.25 with Mrs Gordon, Mrs Kerr and Miss Heptonstall for all Biology courses. Come along to the Biology department to get help with class work, access resources, to work on problem solving or data skills or to work on revision techniques and practice SQA past papers.

Art & Design / Photography (S4/5/6): Practical study sessions will be starting after the long weekend. Monday to Thursday after school 3.20 – 4.30 for all levels. Mrs Templeton will also be available on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes for anyone requiring support with their written work. Please use the sign in sheet in Mrs Templeton’s room when you arrive in the department. (KT)
