Make a simple Pie Chart and Bar Graph in Excel 2013
Description: This article describes how to create a simple pie chart in Excel 2013. (Same can be done for a Bar Graph, etc. just by clicking Bar Chart).
- To create a simple pie chart in Excel 2013, there first must be some data available to chart. In the example below, there is weekly data for sales.
- Highlight the data that you want in the chart. Then select Insert from the Ribbon and select the Recommended Charts button. This will bring up the recommended charts for your data. In this case we are selecting the third icon for Pie Charts and select OK.
- The Design tab will now be listed above. You can use these tools to change the look and feel of your Chart.
- Add Chart Element allows you to change the chart title, legend or data labels.
- Quick Layouts are different preset charts.
- Change Colors allows you to change the colors in your chart.

Once you are finished with designing your graph, you want to place it into a Word document. SimplyRight Click on the graph, and select Copy. Then go to your Word document and Right Click where you want to place it and select Paste.
- Now, if your Word document moves around and goes crazy, that is ok. We just need to fix the picture.Left click the picture. Then select Format from the Ribbon, select the Wrap Test button and pick Top and Bottom. (You can pick any of them but they do different things. Play around with the different types and see what is best for you.)

Assignments should be typed in a Word document (or anything my computer allows me to open) and emailed to my school emailaddress, which can be found on the school website or . Students must follow the guidelinesin order for the assignment to be graded, so double check before submitting. =)

- When you go to submit an email, please put your name and the assignment as the Subject of the email. This lets me know who emailed me, not #.
- Example: For this assignment I would type T. Craig Smith – Classroom Pets
- Last and most important, in the body of the email be professional. Don’t leave your email blank or type “Here is my assignment.” or “What b the next assignment 2morrow Prof?” Always start by saying “Hi Mr. Smith,” or “Hello Mr. Smith,” and NEVER use “Text Messaging” talk. Just looks better and your professors will happy. ;)

In grade school, did your teacher have a pet in the classroom? Many teachers do so in order to promote humane education. The Journal of Moral Education (Mar. 2010) published a study designed to examine elementary school teachers’ experiences with humane education and animals in the classroom. Based on a survey of 75 elementary school teachers, the following results were reported:
