KLEB GIRLS’

ATHLETICS

2015-2016

Athletes…You are a billboard for your school, your team, your family, your parents and everyone who has worn the uniform – stand out – be so different it is noticeable and appealing. Be the team that other people wish they were on.

Our expectations

There are certain expectations for a student/athlete in the Kleb program. These expectations are usually higher than those expected by a student alone. Our program of interscholastic sports grows out of and is an integral part the physical education program; fostering the growth and well being of the individual athlete.

As we try to prepare them for athletics for 6A high school competition, we expect:

STUDENT/ATHLETES TO BE A STUDENT FIRST

Model good behavior at all times

Good conduct grades in all classes

Maintain grades that are passing to keep eligibility

Attend school on a regular basis

Reach out always in good citizenship

Serve others and not self

Provide positive leadership throughout the school day

CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS

The importance of responsibility and discipline is emphasized while earning a conduct grade. The conduct of our athletes is the ultimate test of our program. We want each of our athletes at Kleb to be respected for her conduct as well as her athletic prowess. Each athlete begins with excellence in this standard, and it is her choices alone that change that standard.

ACCOUNTABILITY

In order to build team unity, we tally conduct and academic grades at the end of each six weeks. Students that earn All A’s and E’s or All E’s are recognized for their efforts, and students that are struggling with grade and/or conduct are worked with on an individual basis to set goals and to help them improve on all fronts. No Pass No Play is strictly enforced! It’s the law!

GRADING iNFORMATION

50% Participation and Effort-Athletes are expected to complete all workouts to the best of their ability. Progress is expected as the year progresses.

50% Dressing Out- Athletes will come to school dressed in their athletics clothes and athletic shoes with sufficient arch support. Hair must be secured out of face and all jewelry must be removed.

INJURIES

  • Communication is key!
  • Klein High Trainers are available for consult and rehab.
  • Parent note is good for a maximum of 3 days.
  • After 3 days a doctor’s note is required.
  • We ask that all doctor’s notes have an end date or a follow up appointment date, and that limitations are specified so that we can assign an appropriate alternate workout or assignment.

CELL PHONE USE
