III. NYSPHSAA/FEDERATION BOYS & GIRLS SPRING TRACK APPROVED STANDARDS FOR THE SECOND QUALIFIER FOR THE 2013 SEASON

EACH SECTION MUST DESIGNATE THEIR STATE QUALIFIER MEET.

THE FIRST PLACE FINISHER IN EACH INDIVIDUAL EVENT AND RELAY FROM DIVISION ONE AND DIVISION TWO WILL ADVANCE TO THE STATE MEET.

A SECTION MAY SEND ONE ADDITIONAL ENTRY FOR EACH EVENT IN EACH DIVISION, PROVIDING THEY BOTH MEET THE STANDARD LISTED BELOW. THE STANDARD MUST BE MET AT ANY INVITATIONAL OR CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STARTING WITH THE LAST WEEKEND IN APRIL. ANY ADDITIONAL QUALIFIER MUST COMPETE IN THE STATE QUALIFYING MEET IN THAT EVENT. THE QUALIFIER IS THE PRIMARY VENUE FOR ELIGIBILTY FOR THE STATE MEET. THE WINNER OF AN EVENT IN EACH DIVISION ADVANCES; THE NEXT HIGHEST FINISHER WITH THE STATE STANDARD MAY ADVANCE. IF A VACANCY STILL EXISTS, THE HIGHEST PLACE FINISHER IN THE QUALIFIER WHO MEETS THE STANDARD AT THE EASTERNS MAY BE ADVANCED TO THE STATE MEET IF A VACANCY OCCURS. 1. ENTRY PROCEDURE: THERE WILL BE FAT WITH AN ELECTRONIC PRE-ENTRY

(SEE ATTACHED) JUST-IN-TIME RACING

2. Performances must be ACTUAL Times/ Distances from the current SPRING Season.

3. An Athlete who advances in multi-round events must compete in subsequent rounds. Penalty is meet

disqualification.

4. SPIKES: ¼”

5. BLOCKS: Blocks will be provided; Arlington/White Plains must approve other blocks.

6. AWARDS: Gold medal to winners of each Division; Silver Medals to Athletes/Relays advancing to the

State Meet.

1. CODE OF CONDUCT: THIS FORM MUST BE SIGNED. It is your entry into the meet. No one will be issued a competitor’s number without the Code of Conduct. Codes of Conduct will be collected at the Section Team Tent at Middletown HS.

2. REMEMBER: NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN CLERKING AND COMPETITION AREAS. THIS RULE IS STRICTLY ENFORCED AT THE STATE MEET!!!!

3. The Competitors’ number is your ticket into the Meet. Have it with you at all times.Have it with you at all times. Be sure to have it with you BOTH days.

4. Be sure to have your School Uniform.

5. Bring warm clothes and Rain Gear. Be Prepared for inclement weather.

7. Box lunch will be provided.

The following standards have been instituted for the Class B Sectional Championships. Please do not bring any athlete to the meet who has not met the standard for his or her event at some point during the Spring 2013 season. Clearly this means that no athlete should be competing in an event for the first time at this meet. We are giving you this information early so that you will be able to plan your season accordingly.
