Lisa William’s last day will be tomorrow. We will not have the Dean of Students position next year. She will continue to come here on Tuesdays to help us complete MTSS process.

Our teachers have received an extra 45 minute planning period for data review. Teachers are also receiving a ½ day planning for IB, data review, R/E planning, etc.

IB update:

For our IB self-evaluation, we have to ask for student and parent input. Students were invited to complete the survey which focused on our IB program. Robin Blacker shared their survey monkey results. Mrs. Blacker has just posted a survey for parents.

Mrs. Blacker went over what is involved in an IB self-evaluation and showed the document we are responsible for completing. She noted the 4 standards used to evaluate our school.

Testing Updates:

Ms. S. Williams gave testing updates. This year our fifth graders will take science EOG on-line. They will take a mock EOG next week to test the bandwidth of the system. Read alouds will be done by “the computer”. The student pushes the read aloud button. Students will use their “own” school chromebook to take the test. ELL students take it at an alternate time. May 24th and 25th the third grade EOG’s will be given. The following week the fourth and fifth grade EOG’s will be given. The fifth grade science EOG will be on a different day.

Due to the Read to Achieve requirements, third graders who have not met the requirements will be given re-tests and alternate tests. Those tests will be given during the final weeks of school.

Bond Package:

Mrs. Crisp reminded us to read about how the bond package will impact us. We are high up on the bond package list. If we get a new building we will be the “relief” school for Elizabeth Lane.

Title IX:

Mrs. Crisp reviewed Title IX. As the news has reported, schools were given lessons to be taught by classroom teachers. She noted that some of the lessons raised questions by administrators. The lessons, at this time, have been retracted. The system is taking another look at the lessons to make sure they are appropriate. Administrators would like parents to have the right to opt-out of some of the lessons, as is done for the 5th grade RAYS lessons.

SLT:

Pete, Niki, and Pam are finishing up their time on SLT. We will seek out 3 new parent representatives to fill their places for the next 3 years.

Our teacher allotment is expected to be the same as next year. We did lose our dean of students position. We expect our TA positions to be back next year.

State legislators did change student/teacher ratios, however the difference was not funded. Right now we are supposed to only go over the ratio by 1, however we need to see how funding goes.

At our next meeting will have MAPS data to go over, we will continue to monitor our progress towards SIP goals, and we will address Title IX.
