Requirements for children’s products, including but not limited to, the information below

Children’s Product Certificates (CPC) and General Conformity Certificates (GCC)
Children’s Products require a Children’s Product Certificate (CPC) for each SKU. please see this link for requirements http://www.cpsc.gov/cpc
Because the CPC does not supply all information needed, the Fred Meyer General Conformity Certificate (GCC) will also need to be provided for each SKU for children’s products and for adult products that fall under the CPSC, CPSIA and other US regulations. .
The CPC may be provided by the manufacturer or contact for CPC creation.
· For Children’s products, the CPC and the GCC must be provided to the bank and, provided with all shipping documents, including matching test reports.
Children’s Product Test Reports
Children’s Products require a test report for each item both for branded product and private label.
Please note: Due to the current requirements below, we can no longer accept testing done for other Retailers.
· We will accept testing done for Manufacturers on branded items following a reasonable testing program.
· Manufacturers supplying their own test reports for a stock branded item must also submit a copy of the periodic testing plan.
· If a Manufacturers test report is not available it is expected that the vendor will test to the Kroger /Fred Meyer protocol through the Bureau Veritas testing company.
· Tested samples must be representative of the production batch for each order
· Any change in factory, materials, machinery or production will require additional testing.
Please also note:
· Private label Children’s products are subject to additional testing for 66 chemicals to comply with Washington State Requirements.
· Illinois has a 40 ppm lead requirement. Products that fail to meet this requirement may be subject to cancellation.
Tracking Labels and Batch numbers
Children’s products must have Permanent tracking labels labels on products AND packaging.
The tracking label must contain certain basic information including the source of the product, the date of manufacture and more detailed information such as the batch or run number. This applies to all children’s products includeing but not limited to clothing, shoes, toys and other regulated products.
