Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have some exciting news to share with the Oak Ridge Heights Elementary School community concerning the school’s lunch program. Chartwells, the district’s foodservice provider, and the Woodbridge Township School District have teamed up to refresh the elementary lunch program throughout the district. Phase 1, which improved the ordering and collection procedures, is complete. We are excited to announce that School #21 is the next school to enter Phase 2.

Currently Chartwells and the district use a 3rd party vendor (Preferred Meals) to provide lunch in the district’s elementary schools. They prepare the meals in an offsite commissary, freeze them and then deliver them to our schools. On the day of service the Chartwells staff cooks the individual frozen components, puts them together in a single food container and places them on a table where your children picks them up. As the district’s provider of healthy school meals our goal is to continually update and “RE FRESH” our concepts and cafes. Phase 2 will bring new equipment, a new serving line and meals prepared fresh, daily, in district.

The new program will kick off on 5/8/17 with a grand opening celebration.

Some Highlights of the new program include:

·  Fresher more nutritious food prepared daily….the day it is served!
