Call to Order / The meeting was called to order at 5:35 pm by Hans Monahan
Approval of Minutes / Monahan motioned that the minutes be approved. Frankhauser seconded the motion.
Principal’s Report / The State/District DA visit will be on Friday, October 28 from 9 am - 12 pm.
Longo addressed concerns about her health by stating that she had been in the hospital but she is fine.
Every position has now been filled. The teacher replacing Stryker is waiting on county approval before she can start.
Storm make-up days include the Monday and Tuesday during the week of Thanksgiving. All 12 month employees will also have to work on Veteran’s Day.
A comparison of discipline for the 1st nine weeks this year and last year will be provided at the next SAC meeting.
The Oak Park Robotics teams competed in their first competition on Saturday. They competed against 14 other teams and did well. Their confidence and enthusiasm grew with each robot challenge. They will compete again on 11/5 and 12/3.
Title 1 / Title 1 and Parent Involvement plans have been approved.
The School Improvement plan has been edited according to the new directions and resubmitted.
SAI money is being used to pay for a Language Arts (Taylor) and a Math (Richardson) tutor to work with small groups of students during the school day.
SAC Budget / We received $5200 in school recognition money for moving up a letter grade last year. Please be ready to submit ideas to Longo at the next meeting. Some teachers have suggested using the money for in house field trips. The leadership team suggested getting more iPads for the students.
Voting in of Members / The following parent/community members were nominated for SAC membership:
Morrison, Douglas, Boston, Camerino, Bibby, Cunningham, and Monahan
Boston motioned to accept the nominations. Monahan seconded the motion. All voted in favor.

10/26 Literacy/Report Card Night @ 5:30-7 pm
12/8 Science Fair/STEAM Night @ 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Open Forum / Baltunis asked about the schedule/plan for Report Card Night. Longo responded that a bell schedule would be used for all 6 periods. Report cards will be given out during 1st period. Parents may then rotate through the other periods to ask questions and learn about literacy within each content area. Boston asked what would be served for dinner. The answer was pizza. Baltunis asked if parents would need to visit all teachers. Longo responded that a different piece of literacy in the content area would be discussed in each subject. Phillips and Dailey responded that all classes were built around the same power point.
Next Meeting / The next meeting will be held on October 24th at 5:30 pm. In November, we will meet on the 28th.
Adjournment / A motion to adjourn was made at 6:05 pm by Monahan and seconded by Dailey.
