Gracious God, we are your people embraced by your love. We thank you for your presence throughout time. Liberate us from that which keeps us from you. God has created me to do him some definite service: he has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another. I have my mission, I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my place, even while not intending it, if I do but keep his commandments. Therefore, I will trust him wherever I am. I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve him; in sorrow, my sorrow may serve him and in perplexity, my perplexity may serve him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what he is about. My friends may leave me, I may be thrown among stranger, I may feel desolate, my spirit may sink, and my future may be hidden from me. Still he knows what he is about. Amen

Loving Father, I pray for my family, living or dead, for all their needs. I pray for their health and for their peace of mind in their work and their lives. Especially, I pray for those who are ill: in body, mind or spirit. I pray also for those who are pregnant. I pray that all may guide their children and young people around them, with the example of Catholic living. May they avail themselves of the many gifts the Lord has given them through the Church! Amen

God, our Father, shepherd and guide, look with love on Francis your servant, the pastor of your Church. May his word and example inspire and guide the Church; and May he, and all those entrusted to his care, come to the joy of everlasting life. I thank you, O holy Lord, Almighty Father, and EternalGod, who has decided, not through any merit ofmine. But out of the condescension of your goodness, to nourish me a sinner, yourunworthy servant with the precious Body and Blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that this Holy Communion be not a condemnation to punishment for me, but a saving plea for forgiveness, may it be the emptying out of my vices and the extinction of all lustful desires; an increase of charity and patience, of humility and obedience; of all the virtues, a strong defense against the snare of all my enemies, visible and invisible, the perfect quieting of all my evil impulses of flesh and spirit, binding me firmly to you, the One True God; and a happy ending of my life. I pray too that you will bring me a sinner to the ineffable banquet where you with your Son and the Holy Spirit, are to your saints true light, fulfillment of desires, eternal joy, unalloyed gladness and perfect bliss, through the same Christ our Lord. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference; living one day at a time accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Let me take, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting he will make all things right if I surrender to his will. May I be reasonable happy in this life and supremely happy with him forever in the next. Amen

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going, I do not see the road ahead of me; I cannot know for certain where it willend nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean I am doing so, but I believe the desire to please you does in fact please you, in all that I am doing and that I will never do anything apart from that desire, and I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust you always though I seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will have no fear, for you are ever with me and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. Amen

Most holy Apostle Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies, has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone, make use I implore you of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is in great need, that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (mention petition) and that I may praise God with you and all the elect for ever, I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special powerful patron and gratefully encourage devotion to you . Saintly pastor of Ars, and splendid model of all servants of souls, you were considered not very bright, but you possessed the wisdom of the saints. You were a true pontifex, a bridge builder between God and his people, as countless penitents streamed to your confessional. O great Saint John, inspire all priests to be dedicated mediators between God and his people. Amen
