Purpose was to work learn from state colleagues about methods to improve access to all methods of contraception, with a particular emphasis initially on removing barriers that are specific to long acting reversible contraception. Working meeting to identify state needs, determine priorities, and outline state strategies to increase access to contraceptives by promoting evidence based guidance and developing collaborative partnerships. My primary voice was to speak for the city of Chicago, the largest city in Illinois

KEY ACTIVITIES: / Selected to present oral health findings from our school based dental screening project. Also spent several days attending public health forums regarding the following topics: Affordable Care Act and HIV/AIDS; Staging multisectoral & epidemiological response to emergent threat of the zika virus; Men’s health and Family formation: the important of paternal involvement in pregnancty: CDC population health initiative to improve health in 5 years or less; and several other maternal child health programs. Also, networked with other health department leads to share best practices and shared contacts to encourage post conference follow up via phone calls/emails.
