ST. CROIX VALLEY TENNIS CLUB, INC

HUDSON, WISCONSIN

MEMBERSHIP RULES

I. Tennis Year

The tennis year shall run from September 1 to August 31.

II. Court Use

The courts shall be open to all members of the Club in good standing and their guests

III. Membership

A.

Each share shall be eligible for one family membership upon payment of the annual dues as herein provided. In the event a stockholder does not wish to use his membership, he shall in writing notify the Secretary of the Corporation prior to September 15. The Board of Directors shall then assign stock to the first applicant on the waiting list upon payment of current dues. The only exception to this rule is that a stockholder may assign to another member of his family (family is defined as a spouse, lineal descendants and lineal ascendants). In the event there are no applicants on the waiting list, a member may assign his rights to any person for any price, however, the member so assigning his rights shall remain responsible for the dues attendant to that membership.

B.

The Secretary shall maintain a waiting list of written applications in the order in which they are received. All applications other than those of current Stockholders must be accompanied by a $25.00 application fee. Upon purchase of a share of stock from the corporation, the application fee is credited to the purchase price. Shares of stock offered for sale shall be offered to the first person on the waiting list, playing member or not, and if the offer is declined, said name shall be removed from the waiting listand the $25.00 application fee is forfeited. A playing member who declines to purchase stock may finish out the season, but his name shall be removed from the waiting lists. Nothing shall prohibit a person from resubmitting his application at a future date.

C.

All memberships are family memberships which include husband, wife and unmarried children under twenty-one years of age.

D.

Children under fourteen years or age must be supervised by an adult on the courts as well as in all other areas ofthe facility.

IV. Dues

A.

Each outstanding share of stock shall be assessed annual dues to cover the cost of operating the Corporation. The amount of the dues shall be fixed each year by the Stockholders on recommendation of the Board of Directors.

B.

Dues for the fiscal year September 1 through August 31 shall be billed on September 1 and paid not later than October 1. If dues are not paid by October 1, a fine of $15.00 shall be assessed and the member shall be immediately notified by the treasurer he has been suspended from the privileges ofthe Club until such dues and fines are paid in full. Unless such payment is made by October 15, the right of that member to play on the courts shall be terminated, and playing rights shall be assigned per Rule III, Section A.

C.

New members joining between September 1 and December 31 shall pay the full amount of dues assessed for the current year. New members joining after January 1 shall pay seventy-five percent of the dues assessed for the current year.

V. Guests

A.

Guests of members are allowed the privileges of the Club provided they are accompanied by a member. Any person residing within a 50-mlle radius of Hudson may not be a guest or the Club more than twice per month. The only exception to this rule is when a guest is participating in an area tournament open to the public participation. Said situation must

be designated on the sign-in sheet.

B.

The following fees for guests shall be charged to the sponsoring member:(revised, April 2013)

$10/day for shareholders

$15/day for lessees

C.

Members’ children who are unmarried and are twenty-one years of age and over shall have guest pr1vileges four times per month at the rate charged regular guests and so designated on the sign-in sheet.

D.

Summer guest privileges prevail between June 1 and. August 31. A guest may play more than twice each month provided that the member has not reserved the court for this purpose and that a court is available. The member must sign in the guest and pay the regular guest fee.

E. Club instructors

An interested instructor must personally present his/her application to the Board each year with his/her credentials.

The Board may approve or disapprove any application to be an instructor.

An approved instructor shall be available to give lessons to all members.

Approved instructor shall charge for lessons.

The Board may approve more than one instructor.

The student shall be charged with the time slot not the instructor.

Instructors can only give lessons to Club members while on our courts.

Players who hire non-member instructors shall pay the normal guest fees.

When not giving lessons a non-member instructor must comply with the guest rules.

VIPeriods of Play

There will 4 hours of prime court time between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Only 2 hour reservations will be allowed during this time. The intent is to encourage this time for doubles play so the court usage can be maximized. All other times of the day, reservations can be made in 30 minute periods. There is a maximum of four reservations of 30 minute periods each day for each member with no distinction between weekdays and weekends.

VII. Court Reservations

A Limitations on Court Use.

1.Each family membership shall have the right to use a reserved court not more than two hours

2. A family membership may not use a reserved court in excess of twelve hours per week. A family membership shall be deemed to have used a play period if any member of the family plays.

3. When a person uses an unreserved court, he may do so without regard to the limitations, i.e., Rule VII, Aas long as he signs in and designates the play period as FREE TIME

Reservation Schedule - Reservations shall be made by using the reservation system on the Club’s internet site.No reservations shall be made more than four days in advance. For example, reserve after 6 am on Sunday for a Thursday reservation; reserve after 6 am Monday for a Friday reservation.

VII: Log Book

The full name of every player (including the fu1l name of guests) using the court must be PRINTED, in the log book (electronic when implemented) at the court prior to commencing play, and it must be shown to whom guests are to be charged. If any member neglects to follow the above rules he shall be fined $15.00.

IX. Failure to Keep Reservations

If a member, after making a court reservation, fails to keep said reservation, he shall be fined $15.00, unless:

He cancels the reservation by 11:00 p.m. of the day previous to the time reserved; or

He arranges for some other member to play during the reserved period and enters it in the log accordinglyX.

At the end of each play period the players must leave the court immediately unless no one is waiting to play.

XI.

Tennis shoes with soles that do not mark the court must be worn on the courts at all times.

XII.

No cigarettes, food or beverage shall be taken onto the court No pets shall be allowed in the club house facilities.Only tennis players are allowed on the court surfaces. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the facility.

XIII.

The outside door is to be kept locked at all times, and the lights turned off if no players are waiting for a court.

XIV.

Any deliberate act of destruction or damage by a member or a member’s guest to any club property or facilities will result in a fine to be determined by the Board of Directors.

XV.

Ifa member loses his or her key he or she shall be charged with the cost of replacing the lock and making and reissuing keys to all members. Failure to pay within 30 days shall be treated as a failure to pay dues under Section IV B.

XVI.

All guest fees and or fines shall be billed periodically and are due and payable within 30 days. Failure to pay within 30 days shall be treated as a failure to pay dues under Section IV B.

XVII.

Penalties Violation of these rules may result in a $15.00 fine. Continued violations may result in suspension of membership privileges for a period to be determined by the Board of Directors. No membership shall be suspended until after a hearing by the Board ofDirectors.
