Guided this public energy company through a strategic and financial restructuring (Chapter 11), raising the necessary financing and working capital loan to successfully reemerge from bankruptcy within 12 months.

·  Eliminated $300+ million in debt and generated $75+ million in additional cash from operations.

·  Drove manufacturing reliability from 85% to 99%, and reduced production costs by $45+ million, SGA by $18 million, transportation costs by $39 million and distribution fixed costs by $9 million.

·  Devised and executed an exit strategy from the trading/marketing business that reduced working capital by $80 million. Renegotiated supply agreements that saved $50+ million.

·  Funded the development and build-out of a prototype corn fiber pretreatment process as a preparatory step for 2nd generation cellulosic conversion. Collaborated with Purdue University on a joint patent pretreatment system and heat integration design that allows for efficient processing of high solids feed streams.

·  Led a $500 million capital expansion program to build bio refineries in Nebraska and Indiana (prior IPO commitment to shareholders).

·  Navigated company to positive operating cash position 30 days after filing bankruptcy (April, 2009) and delivered the court approved monthly DIP financing budget every month since filing.
