XIII International Peter Tchaikovsky piano solists and piano duets performer competition regulation
Competition organizers:
1. Competition will be held at Kokneses region Kokneses Music school hall, Lāčplēša ielā 7, Kokneses village on 2nd of December 2017.
2. Competition is organized by Koknese Music school in cooperation with Kokneses region council.
Competition goal:
1) Encourage students in P. Tchaikovsky piano music;
2) Develop and build music school’s students abilities and aptitudes;
3) Develop learning quality in music schools;
4) Develop student abilities and skills in solo music and ensemble;
5) Encourage piano music teacher experience and repertoire exchange.
Competition rules:
In the competition participates piano solists:
A group – 2.-3. class students
B group – 4.-5. class students
C group – 6.-8. class students
In the competition participates piano duets:
A group – 2.-3. class students
B group – 4.-5. class students
C group – 6.-8. class students
Participant count:
No more than 2 students in each group from one school.
Participants must play:
1) One or more P. Tchaikovsky pieces;
2) 16.,17. century’s composers piece (by choice).
Piano duets participants must play:
1) P. Tchaikovsky original music transcriptions;
2) 16.,17. century’s composers piece (by choice).
Total appearances timing:
A group – till 4 minutes
B group – till 6 minutes
C group – till 10 minutes
Competition process:
Competition is open, everyone who is interested can listen.
Information about the competition run and performance order, rehearsal times will be sent to schools by email after receiving applications.
Competition judgment and rewards
Participant piano solists and piano duets performance will be judged in a scale of 25, including:
1) musical image, style, genre brightness;
2) method, rhythm, temp precision;
3) performance appearance;
4) piano duets are judged separated.
Jury commision will be made of 3 people approved by Kokneses music school principal;
Jury work is done by principals approved jury commision chairman;
Jury members will not judge their own students;
Jury rating is final and indisputabe.
Competitions prizes:
1) Diplomas, prizes for laureats;
2) GRAND PRIX por successful P. Tchaikovsky piece performance;
3) Gratitude for participating
Applications must be sent by email to till 3rd of November 2017 on schoolsform according to your sample (annex Nr. 1) incomplete and inaccurate forms will not be accepted.
Changes in the program will be made until 17th of November 2017.
Participation fee EUR 15,- has to be paid till 17th of November 2017 bank transfer or 2nd of December before the competition at the schools cash register.
