Macc, Manchester’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector support organisation, is recruiting a new Chair for the Board of Trustees.
We are looking for a Chair to work with the Board and the Chief Executive to lead the organisation through a period of change in order to extend our influence, stimulate discussion about our direction and ensure a strong future for Macc and member organisations.
It is a challenging time for the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Manchester with ongoing cutbacks alongside a continued increase in demand for services. And yet this is also a time of great opportunity: Macc aims to be at the forefront of innovation in supporting local good causes, finding new ways to engage and include local people in community activity and playing a pivotal role in the changes and ambition of the Devolution agenda.
We are looking for an experienced leader who can promote and uphold the values-led work of our organisation so we can build our role in the city as a credible, effective and supportive civic partner.
If you have a firm grasp of governance, good connections and an appreciation of the role of the not-for-profit sector, we would like to hear from you.
As a charity trustee, the role of Macc Chair is a non-remunerated position.
Expressions of interest are invited by CV and covering letter to be sent to not later than Sunday 18th September 2016.
A full description of the expectations of the role is upon request or please contact Mike Wild, Chief Executive at Macc for an informal discussion. 0161 834 9823
