Course Description: Includes the study and application of linear functions and expressions, systems of linear equations and inequalities, exponents, polynomials, and factoring.
Prerequisites: MTH 60 and RD 30, or designated placement test score as shown on current indicator chart.

Grading: This course is Pass/No Pass. If you need a grade, let me know before the fourth week of class. The term grade is based on total points accumulated during the course. Points are awarded for homework, quizzes, exams, and projects. Attendance at all class meetings is expected. If you miss a class it is your responsibility to obtain all materials missed.

*** Homework is due on Mondays and Thursdays at the beginning of class, unless otherwise noted. Late assignments will not be accepted. There will be 10 assignments; each assignment is worth 10 pts. (See TURN-IN Homework sheet.)
*** The online homework will be computer scored as a percentage out of 100%. It is due on the dates listed and must be completed by these dates (see ONLINE Homework sheet).
*** Quizzes are taken at the end of each chapter on the day of the review. Each quiz is worth 10 points. Quizzes are no notes and no calculator.
*** Information about special projects will be discussed as needed.
*** There will be 4 exams given during class, tentatively on the dates listed. Make-up exams will be penalized by 10% automatically. If you are unable to attend on the day of an exam for a serious and compelling reason, you must contact me in advance to arrange to a make-up. Exams are no notes, but with calculator.
*** The final exam will be a cumulative knowledge exam. To pass this course a 70% is required on this exam! It will focus on the material from the course which is considered most crucial to continue on to MTH 95 or MTH 93/94.

Required Materials:
· Text: Experiencing Introductory and Intermediate Algebra, 3rd edition, Prentice-Hall, Inc., Thomasson & Pesut, 2007. (We will cover Chpts 3-8.)
· A TI-83 or TI-84 (plus or silver editions) or other graphing calculator is required. (TI-84 plus is the model the instructor will be using.)
