2. CD Manual

3. Universal switch power supply DC 9V

4. RJ45 straight thru cable

[Software]

ezConfig-v5.0-pop.exe: Configuration tool to set the parameters to TCPIP RS485/

422 converter.

elTest-en.exe: Test tools for the data communication between host and client.

VSP Manager: Virtual COM port mapping and monitoring tool.

2. Configuration:

[Configure the converter]

1) Use RJ 45 cable to wire the PC host with Windows OS and the converter directly

or via network switch or hub.

2) Run ezConfig-v5.0-pop.exe to enter configuration windows

3) Buttons definition:

Search---Search the converters on the net

Read--- Select the designated converter, and read the parameters.

Write ---Write the designated parameters to the converter.

Exit --- Exit the window

4) Set the parameter or choose right option based on the real application, and keep the

parameter for late reference. Keep the default parameter if no special specification

for the application.

5) The default IP address for the converter: 192.168.0.7

[Mapping the virtual COM Port]

1) Install TIBBO software package on Windows OS

2) Run VSP Manager from TIBBO program group.

On VSP Manager Administration Panel, if no any virtual COM port available,

add virtual COM port first.

Just follow pop up window to add virtual port.

The software will automatically identify and configure the virtual port.

3) On VSP Manager Administration Panel, choose the virtual port and click [Edit] button to enter the mapping window.

4) Set the right parameter to map the IP address of the converter to the virtual COM

port of the host PC.

[POINTS] Select which COM port which the converter is designated to be.

Please choose TCP as transport protocol if for regular Ethernet

network.

Key in the IP address which should be exact same as the IP address

when configure the converter on ezConfig software. (e.g. 192.168.1.7)

Please make sure the port which should be exact same as the port which

is set on ezConfig software. (e.g. COM 3)

Check other parameters to meet the application or leave them as default

[Testing the connection]

1) Run elTest software to enter the test window

Check the module IP to make sure the IP address which should be exact same as

the IP address which has been set to the converter. (e.g. 192.168.1.7)

Please also make sure the Port is correct.

3) For PC Local Port, the port number should be same as the port which has been set

on ezConfig software --- the column [Remote Port], default is 1234

4) To test the communication between the converter and the host, use jumpers to short the T+ ---- R+ and T- ---- R- on the RS422 wiring pad, then type some text on [SEND] column, and click [Manual Send] button to send info, the [Receive] column will display the same text.

3. Application:

[Sample]

PC and TCP/IP- RS485/422 converter:

1) Use configure software to map the IP of converter to COM port of PC, like

COM 3

2) Connect PC and converter to LAN or WAN, then the converter become COM port

of PC, and the converter can put anywhere on the network, and works as COM port

of the PC

[Sample]

TCP/IP-RS485/422 converter and TCP/IP-RS485/422 converter:

1) Use PC to configure two converters, Converter A and Converter B.

2) Set IP of Converter A to remote IP of Converter B

3) Set IP of Converter B to remote IP of Converter A

4) Connect Converter A and Converter B with crossover RJ 45 cable, then the set works as RS485/422 end to RS485/422 end cable.
